“I will keep praying…”

I was telling a friend about my month and she said, “Wow! What a doozie of a month you’ve had!”

Yes, I think you could call being rear-ended while sitting at a stop-light and sustaining a concussion that makes you forget your own name a “doozie.”  And, having your son in the car suffer a concussion too.  And then, while still recovering, having to fly far away to check both parents into the ICU and care for them while they lingered on death’s door.  I think you could call that a “doozie” of a month.

People like to plan. I like to plan. But, when it comes down to it, we can’t plan a lot of life.  It happens according to God’s plan – and I certainly don’t know what that is almost all of the time.  But, what I have learned, through my process of surrender to Him, is that there is a plan and He is present and sustaining me through it.  I am not floundering. He is present with me every moment. And, I trust Him.

My friend said, “Wow. I will keep praying for you.”

“Thanks,” I said.  Because, in the end, that’s all it’s about.  In the end, and every day in between, I am here to pray – and to love, praise, glorify, and adore Him.  The rest is completely up to God – and I trust Him.

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you,” says the Lord, “plans for your welfare, not for woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:11-12).
